In the background there is always sympathy for the lives of ordinary people. The act of bearing witness has thus coalesced with the act of creating \u2013 and bearing its burned. Reading and writing have become equal in value to seeing and visuality, for he who must learn to speak with his eyes, must cure himself of seeing with his mouth, as noted by the author Paul Auster.
