I have worked as a visual artist for nearly four decades. I received my Doctor of Fine Arts degree from the Academy of Fine Arts in 2012, where I later worked as a postdoctoral researcher and university lecturer from 2015 to 2020. Alongside my artistic practice, I have been involved in collaborative projects and positions of trust, spoken at seminars and conferences, edited and contributed to publications, and curated exhibitions in Finland and abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My artistic practice is conceptual and exploratory. Drawing has been a natural medium throughout my career, but in recent years my work has increasingly involved speculative design and experimental forms of digital fabrication, particularly in connection with my postdoctoral research and the Body and Iron<\/em> exhibition trilogy. The trilogy examines masculinity, death and rituals, as well as our relationship with nature, technology, and environments and contexts conventionally associated with masculinity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second part of the trilogy, Reports \u2013 Body and Iron<\/em>, was presented at Imatra Art Museum in 2025\u201326. The exhibition brought together 3D-printed objects, camouflage fabrics and installations with a live video stream from the nearly vacant Imatra City Hall, envisioned as a possible future home for the Finnish Museum of Hunting and Nature. Through these elements, the exhibition explored hunting and camouflage imagery as cultural constructions and examined the tensions between the body, nature, technology and industrial production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
